Guest Podcasting on Common Questions in Polyamory

I’ve started guest-podcasting again…

And I couldn’t be more excited! As a therapist, appearing as guests on others’ podcasts is one great way to get some psychoeducation out to the masses, and to help talk about some of the more taboo subjects that a lot of polite society would prefer for us to just keep quiet about.

Recently, I appeared on Fine, I’ll Talk about It, hosted by Danielle Young, to talk all kinds of things polyamory. As a therapist who specializes in working with folks in all different types of non-monogamous relationships, I get some of the questions from this pod a lot:

  • How is polyamory different from cheating?[short answer - there’s transparency - although you can still cheat in non-monogamy]

  • Can there still be commitment in polyamory?[absolutely - people find all manner of ways to express what commitment means to them]

  • How does social conditioning affect how we view alternative relationships?[in so. many. ways. - we go more into this in the episode]

  • Do polyamorous people get jealous? [yes, many do, it’s all about finding a way to use that emotion to better understand your needs]

We also chat about a big one - communication - what it actually means, what small steps we can take to start getting to a more open and honest place with important people in our lives (polyamorous or monogamous partners or anyone else for that matter), and what things can really look like when we start to get some of those practices firmly into place.

So if you’re curious…

from a personal perspective, an informational/educational perspective, or just to try to better understand someone in your life, I encourage you to check out the episode below!

And of course, if hearing me speak resonates with you, you live in DE, PA, or MD, and could use some support around your own non-monogamous relationship, you can always book a free consult call RIGHT HERE.
