Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.
This blog is an important part of my work as a therapist because it’s so radically important for each and every one of us to know that we are not alone in the world.
So many of the clients I work with feel like they’re the only ones struggling, the only ones…
…experiencing this much anxiety
…struggling in relationships
…craving something different
…still trying to figure themselves out
…searching for something ‘more’ in life but not knowing what that is.
The good news is - that’s just something we tell ourselves in our heads. The truth is that there are so many people out there going through similar things; it’s just that we don’t often talk about it.
Through this blog, I hope to bring some light to these types of concerns, to share insights and tips that you as a reader can take away and implement into your life, and to normalize the beautiful struggle that is being human.
What you’ll find here
Over time, I hope to share my thoughts on a variety of topics, inspired by people I love helping. You’ll read about:
Anxiety, people-pleasing, and how our nervous systems impact our interactions with others
Relationships - both monogamous and non-monogamous
Unique experiences of the queer and kink communities
Regular life-y things - stuff like setting boundaries (“I know, I know”) and creating the life that feels right for you.
What you won’t find here
This blog (and my work in general) is not about pathologizing people.
As a healthcare worker who is part of a medical model, diagnosing is part of my job, but I prefer to focus less on that and more on seeing who a person really is underneath, instead of distilling everything down to a code.
So, while you may read about anxiety, trauma, grief, and other forms of “diagnosis,” please know that I see humans as whole beings, not just a diagnosis or code.
These posts are meant to offer new ideas, guidance, and support - but it’s not the same as working directly with a therapist, nor does it make me your therapist. For more details, you can review my website disclaimer here, which covers the scope of my services and professional guidance.
I hope you’ll explore the posts here with an open mind and heart, and find some new ideas, perspectives, or even just the reminder that you’re not alone.
When to work with a therapist
If you find yourself reading, thinking… “Wow it would be so helpful to have someone to talk to about these kinds of things,” please know support is out there.
And if you’re thinking of working with a therapist, whether it’s your first time or your 40th, it’s so important to find the right fit. Working with someone who you feel you can trust and really open up to is so important, and it’s not something I take lightly.
If you’re wondering if we might be a good fit to work together, I’d love to chat with you further on a free 20 minute consult call, so I can get to know you better and answer any questions you might have!
